New Item!

I have added a new item to my Etsy shop! I am absolutely OBSESSED with this yarn! I love Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable yarn! It is the softest acrylic yarn I have ever worked with, and I love using it for infinity scarves. This scarf is also my favorite, but I am also biased that it is all multicolored blue hues (I can’t stop buying blue yarn…). I am ready for fall to begin!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I hope everyone is having a cozy, loving Valentine’s Day! My awesome husband got up early to surprise me with heart shaped donuts from Dunkin Donuts, our new favorite place. He really knows the way to my heart!

Tonight, the snow is falling and it is a great end to a relaxing day. My crochet accomplishment for today is finishing a sunrise colored infinity scarf! I am in love with the colors and I am a huge fan of the multicolored infinity scarves. This one is for sale in my etsy shop for just $20!

Ocean Blue Set

I wasn’t sure what to make my cousin for Christmas since we aren’t close, but she lives in the same state and will be celebrating Christmas with us at my grandma’s house, is I felt like I had to make something for her. Luckily we had 2 snow days last week, so I could make this all in one day. I am making an afghan with this blue, so I just used it to make another infinity scarf and hand warmer set. I used Caron simply soft in ocean. If you need a quick last-minute gift, this is perfect and used less than a skein of yarn!

Snowy Evening

Yesterday was our first snow of the year! It began early in the day, around 9:30 while I was still at work. I had a lot of work to complete this weekend for student teaching, and since I still work on the weekends, I have only a small window of time to get work done. I left all my crocheting projects at my grandma’s house over the weekend so I wouldn’t have any distractions when I stayed with my parents this weekend. Well, school was canceled for today since it’s icy out still, so in my excitement, I borrowed a hook and yarn from my mom and gave in to the temptation. It wasn’t good, I know, but I justified my actions based on the fact I did get a lot done before I found out school was canceled and I gave in! So, I stayed up late like a middle school kid excited by the day off, and I made this scarf. I used yarn from Cranberry Creek Fibers and I used a pattern from ravelry found here. It only took about two and a half hours to crochet and it was a great project to relieve the stress of the end of the semester craziness! It also makes a great last minute quick gift!

Colorful Scarves!

I finished two more Christmas presents! Wooo hoo! I bought two skeins of this Loops and Thread yarn because I thought I wanted to make them thicker. I began making the one scarf for my niece and it actually only took one skein. I wanted to make the scarf longer, but since she is only 13, I think it’ll be long enough for her. I was going to use the second scarf for myself later on, but I realized my best friend would love it. These are her favorite colors so I’m adding it to her Christmas presents. It ended up being longer but one row shorter. I’m hoping they’ll love them!

Thanksgiving Gift?

I’ve been scrambling to figure out what I should make for Christmas gifts now, especially since I won’t finish everything in time for the holidays. I am way to busy with student teaching, and I have not had time for crocheting for a while. I haven’t been able to make anything for Christmas lately 😦 A couple weeks ago, my sister said she is coming home for Thanksgiving. She joked with me that she wanted an infinity scarf when she came home, but I felt bad since I didn’t finish her birthday present (and still haven’t finished…) so I put the scarf first on my priority list. I am hoping she really likes it, since I haven’t given her a birthday present yet for this year, and it’s already 2 months later. So she doesn’t know it yet, but she is getting a Thanksgiving gift from me instead of a birthday present this year.  I got the pattern from the Stingy Stitcher’s Forever 21 knock-off scarf, which is a pattern that I absolutely love and will use many more times!

Back to the Hook

After a stressful few weeks of work and school, I finally have time to relax and crochet again. My sister called and said she will be home for Thanksgiving and she joked that she wanted an infinity scarf. Since I don’t have time to get her Christmas present done on time, I figured I could at least try to tackle that project. I always use Caron Simply Soft, but I tried a new color this time: blackberry. I use the knock off Forever 21 pattern from the Stingy Stitcher every time I make one, and I still love it. This girl has the most prettiest pattern! I’m glad I have a new de-stressing project until I get to see her!
